Cindy’s musical journey, deeply rooted in Southern California, began under the influence of her father, a friend of Rusty Richards from the iconic “Sons of the Pioneers.” This connection ignited her twin passions for music and ranch life, fostering a deep love for harmonies, horses, and the ranching lifestyle.
Post-high school, Cindy’s path led her to Cottage Grove, Oregon, where her work with Weyerhaeuser coincided with a transformative musical discovery. Here, she delved into the world of folk music, was captivated by the resonant sounds of 12-string guitars, and discovered a fondness for bluegrass.
By 1980, Cindy’s musical aspirations had taken her to Arizona and New Mexico, where she toured with a bluegrass gospel band, sharing her growing repertoire with a wider audience. Her journey then took her to Idaho in 1986, a year that marked the beginning of a series of significant collaborations. She joined forces with the Kelly Leavitt Band and the Old Time Fiddlers, further honing her musical skills.
Cindy’s talent soon led her to the Canyon County Posse Band, and by 1991, she became an integral part of the Treasure Canyon Band (TCB), with whom she performed until 2009. That year, Cindy embarked on a new adventure in Ohio, swapping her horses for Harleys and ranching for farm life. This period was marked by her husband’s travels, taking her from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico, often on the back of a Harley.
In 2010, Cindy joined the band Drifting Aimlessly, a group of talented musicians with whom she continues to perform. Highlights of this era include performances at the Jamestown, Ohio Opera House and memorable jam sessions in southeastern Ohio with artists like Beau Thompson of Kentucky.
Returning to Idaho in 2015, Cindy immersed herself in the local music scene, participating in jam sessions and startup bands around Twin Falls. This period was instrumental in refining her stage presence, a skill she credits to her friend Dianne Kalley, a seasoned performer from the Dianne Kalley Band in Las Vegas and Buffalo, New York.
In 2017, Cindy rejoined the TCB, and in 2021, she became a proud member of the 3 Day Weekend (3DW) Band. She cherishes being part of this group of exceptional musicians, whose diverse talents across multiple genres contribute to the unique musical flavor that defines 3DW.
